Description
Pompeii old Door, is from Pompeii, Italy
The ruins of Pompeii are near the modern suburban town of Pompei (nowadays written with one 'i'). It stands on a spur formed by a lava flow to the north of the mouth of the Sarno River (known in ancient times as the Sarnus).
Today it is some distance inland, but in ancient times it would have been nearer to the coast. Pompeii is about 8 km (5.0 mi) away from Mount Vesuvius. It covered a total of 163 acres and was a major city in the region of Campania.
Pompeii has been a tourist destination for over 250 years. Today it has UNESCO World Heritage Site status and is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Italy, with approximately 2.5 million visitors every year.

Do you think this is actually part of the ruins they dug up? Or was this added since they started the dig?
Ivete Basso Photography replied:
Thanks Al. Appreciate your nice comment. This is a good question...I don't think this door is a part from the original door.

Ivete, oooh I get to be the first to vote and make a comment! Yippee, I love this door color.. It's like an old world PLUM color! Not the "Brooks" colored PLUMS, but an ornament PLUM... more purple than blue... I know, I know, me and that purple.. You have so many gorgeous door images! The places you have gone, the things you have seen! I only wish I could travel and see these things, but, then again I have YOU to bring them to me! Thanks for that Ivete.........FVG+
